The skills and power skating training session is a collaboration between former NHL player Jack Skille, and two-time Olympian Jonathan Garcia. The training session consists of a 20 minute off ice dynamic warm-up, a 60 minute on ice training, and a 30 minute post ice dryland session. The 60 minute on ice training is broken up into 30 minute halves, athletes are divided into groups based on age and skill level. Each group receives 30 minutes of power skating training with Jonathan, and 30 minutes of skills work with Jack. The post ice dryland session will focus on exercises that increase strength, range of motion, and most importantly injury prevention. All of these dryland exercises can be performed at home, and on the road with little to no equipment.
